A few of us saw Divine Fits a few nights ago in Madison. Catch them if you can on their current U.S. tour. This video, courtesy of the creators project, gives a nice look into the genesis of the band which includes Spoon frontman, Britt Daniel and Wolf Parade guitarist, Dan Boeckner.
Sometimes the motivation for making something is “because it should exist.” When I saw this belt buckle at our company store, I immediately thought it should contain an old school, painted portrait of Eric, one of the creative gurus on the Canvas team, and frequent wearer of Zissou-style watch cap. Photo of Eric Instagramming on location for reference.
For those of you who live close by, the Barn has posted its 2013 schedule and we look forward to a great year of music. Thanks Chris. www.shittybarnsessions.com
Nashville is a special place, a community filled with talented folks, old-fashioned charm, new-school vitality, and of course, great music. We spent 72 hours there for our Spring Collection shoot and we had an amazing time. If you don’t know Nashville, or haven’t been there in a while, make it a point to pay a visit soon.
I brought our Spring Popover Anorak with me on a late winter ski trip. It probably wasn’t the best day to bring it out, but the waxed cotton shed the snow great - much better than my face.
Jens Risom, age 96, standing in front of his prefab house that he designed and had built for his family in 1967 off the coast of Rhode Island. It would be a sweet location for a Canvas shoot. Read more at: http://www.dwell.com/renovation/article/jens-risoms-block-island-family-retreat
